Job, Job

Great balance, energy, and a stellar soloist. I will hear auditions for soloists during finals week and think the tonal quality needs to be soulful and fearless like this singer!

  1. Hello Mrs.Brown,
I noticed on the bottom of page measure 55 was the hardest transition and continuing onto the top of page ten because if you don't know the Soprano part to begin with. It truly is an amazing song of which I am eager to learn.

  2. I can tell that it wants to rush, but I agree that the balance and energy is great! Although it is a very energetic song, there are some important dynamics, especially on the 'In the morning's. 2:09 is where we stopped at in class today, and the next section is much more involved, so we need to be aware of that. Overall, a great performance!

  3. I really enjoyed the piece. One of the hardest transitions was definately after "Moan on Marry" and also at the end with the overlapping voice parts. The overlapping voice parts seemed to build on each other in the beginning which I liked, but near the end they all sort of bounced ontop of each other and I didn't like that contrast.

  4. First of all, WOW! This song was great, but I think the confusing transition is on page 15, first system, measure 95 after the descants belt out "oh Job Job!" The altos, mezzos, and sopranos all begin to sing "in the mornin" but 'mornin' is left off. We start to sing "in the" then we wait for two counts and sing this "uh-huh" business...Whaaat? It was confusing.

  5. This was a good performance, I think for our choir we need to make sure that we sing powerful like this choir and to not be afraid! The transitions were alright, most of it was very loud, and I think I would have liked to hear better transitions from soft to really loud! That’s what makes the song fun and interesting!! still sounds great!!
