You're right Mrs. Brown, it was all one dynamic. They should have varied the piece with pianos at the beginning and the end. The end was a bit shaky in the solo and the sopranos were completely overpowering the others. I must give them props for their word painting though.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I would like to hear more dynamics, and when the choir sang together there was a lot of men power.. I mostly paid attention to them. , and not so much the altos.

Yeah, I have to agree. Great balance, but the dynamics are a stagnant mezzo-forte. I would have liked more of a sense of urgency with their tempo, and more than a two-bar phrase. Other than that, I enjoyed it :D

ReplyDeleteRosemary: I like the soloist's strong sound, but she might have been a little softer to balance with the choir. Also I thought they were going a tad slow, not really keeping to the beat, for the top of page 4 -ish.
they sang with a very powerful sound and all their sections sounded good mixed together
ReplyDeleteI like how the baby was making sounds very great singing on the baby's part.haha I thought the choir had very great loud sound you could hear the sound echoing and vibrating around that stage. spanish pronunciation was very good actually.

ReplyDeleteThis peice wasn't perfect but it was ok and I think that I was kind of generic in spots like a little robotic their sound didn't have a shape at times.
This is a great song. they were pretty good i think we can do better if we work harder. At the end i thought it was really beautiful. i love this song

The piece was really pretty to listen to but would have been a lot more interesting if there had been crescendos and decrescendos. The vowels were good and there was a lot of power from the tenors and bases. I felt as though the girls' parts were not as interesting to listen to but this could have partly been due to the lack of power behind the girls' lines.

That's a beautiful piece. They really have a good balance in the choir. I think at the last solo part, they really need more dynamics though it's a really high note and hard to hit that. And the if the solo can have crescendo from the low notes to the high notes, I think it will be better.

i honestly thought it was amazing....i suggest looking at the environment that the group was singing in...the video was dedicated to this school's priest! was it a funeral? I honestly believe that this group had something that isnt commonly found, they seemed to have extreeme spirit and soul while singing...i think it was a funeral
